Chiropractic For Kids
Children have the same joints that we do, but they’re not fully formed yet.
Their joints are still more cartilaginous than truly boney.
Nine out of ten kids that we check are fine! The majority of the children we take care of are                                                                           families in our office being proactive ensuring their kids develop with good strong posture and                                                                   function to the best of their ability as opposed to reacting and waiting until a problem arises.

For young babies, the most common complaints we see are those who are colicky, fussy, and                                                                       experience sleep issues, nursing dysfunction, reflux, constipation, plagiocephaly, torticollis, and                                                                 are not progressing as expected.

Younger Children
Younger children, toddlers and infants don’t usually arrive at the chiropractor’s office complaining
that they threw their back out after lifting a really heavy Elmo doll or dancing too hard to the latest
Disney songs!

The most common complaints we see with younger kids are Chronic Ear Infections, enuresis,
headaches, growing pains, ADD/ADHD, Asthma, Autism, Digestive Issues, and/or extreme discomfort.

Older children — middle schoolers and teens — may come in with musculoskeletal complaints that resemble those of young adults, particularly if they are involved in athletics.

Children with Special Needs
Quality of Life It has been our experience that Specific Corrective Care Chiropractic has a life changing effect on larger childhood developmental disorders and syndromes like cerebral palsy, ADHD, autism, post-stroke, Down syndrome, seizures, and so on. Make no mistake, our doctors will never claim to “cure” a child with such conditions, however, they have helped hundreds of children and families make some changes that have allowed them to lead a more comfortable life. “We are able to improve these patient’s quality of life by keeping their system moving and allowing their nervous system to work the best it can, so their body can reach its fullest potential.”

"I am 67 years old and have experienced 3 different back surgeries in the lumbar spine. I had resigned myself that my “Golden Years” would not prove to be golden, because of the degeneration that was evident in my lower back vertebrae.
I can now say unequivocally, that the adjustment protocol that I have received from the Doctors has done wonders. My back pain is a thing of the past. I experience less paresthesia and I feel better! I would recommend Family Chiropractic to anyone willing to take the responsibility for their health." - Larry S.

“I can't thank the Jordan's enough for my care. I don't even know where to start. I originally had plans to bring my son to them as they specialize in children. They were recommended by a friend. So before I went to take him, I decided to check it out and see what they were all about for myself. I've been to other chiropractors but no one compares to the Jordan's and their specialized techniques and methods they use. I show up for my first appointment and after filling out the paperwork I realized I'm not as healthy as I wanted to be, reality check but for the best! I had my consult with Dr. Cotey and before the consult was over I had a list of health problems on my paper that I didn't even think they would have cared about! On my paperwork I put down I was there for my back and my neck. At the consult with Dr. Cotey, we had listed everything, from anxiety/depression/weight gain/ bloating/ thyroid issues/ joint problems/ skin conditions and the list goes on. At a normal PCP visit this would have taken many visits to tell them my problems because "one problem per visit" is posted all over (insurance reasons I'm sure). So already I knew I made the right choice. My consult was a life changing moment for me. Just a little about me- I'm a mother of two, and 50% of the time we have my boyfriends two other children. I am very busy. I work full time as a nurse on a ventilator/ post surgical/rehab unit and pick up many extra hours. Sometimes 16 hour shifts. I started going to Dr. Jordan when my youngest was a little over 6 months. I stopped breast feeding because I couldn't keep up to pump at work because I never had time to stop. I gained 14 pounds within a few weeks of stopping. This was after I was already back to my normal pre-pregnancy weight. So now, I was heavier than I've ever been. Back in 2014 I fell off of a horse running full speed and ended up with compression fractures in my low back, 4 months later I was rear ended at a stoplight by a drunk driver, the exams showed I had yet another fracture. I could tell my posture was slowly diminishing. I hurt. I was depressed. Again, I WAS depressed. Felt like I couldn't keep up with my kids. I couldn't teach my daughter how to do a cartwheel! I felt extremely older than my age (I am 31). I don't run myself or my children to the doctors unless it's absolutely needed. Every time you go to a doctor they add a med for whatever problem you state and send you on your way and never try to "correct" the underlying cause. From my very first visit to Family Chiropractic I knew my life was changing. We just went over the X-rays, I hadn't even been adjusted yet. Dr. Cotey stated we will work together to make you healthy again. He and Dr. Amanda have a compassion for what they do and they really do care about everyone they care for. They are great educators, and very knowledgeable. The receptionist Heather has been great as well with working with my schedule. Next month will be 1 year since I started my new life, I went through their blitz and corrective care and I can now say I can cross many of my problems off of that list I had completed on day 1. These problems were my reason for my depression. That is gone too! I have scoliosis and my repeat X-ray showed they corrected my spine almost as much as if I would have went to surgery! I continue to go once a week. My two children are now going too and Dr. Amanda takes time out to adjust my daughters baby dolls as well! Not one medication taken. I can now do a cartwheel with my daughter. We now eat healthier and many lifestyle changes were made and continuing to be made. They helped guide me with all of this. They offer classes which are always helpful. I've learned so much from them. Yes, financially it can be tough as they don't accept my insurance, but if you look at it as "investing in your health" you can make it work. I have no plans to ever go back to my family doctor. I recommend them to everyone!!!" - Erin M.
